Weaving between the lines of indie pop, soul, and alternative, Lydia Prettyman is a Manchester-based artist with a lyrical eye for the universal feelings that unite us.
After a recent sold-out headline show in Manchester, playing Together Again Festival in Cheshire, and supporting Damian Lewis on his recent tour, Lydia continues to hone her sound. Tapping into a variety of influences, stretching from ‘70s soul to alt-pop, the music offers a refreshing sonic blend.
Much like fellow genre-bending artists Coldplay, Billie Marten and Nieve Ella, Lydia’s music offers an intimate delve into the intricacies of her mind, touching on themes of love, loss, and nostalgia. Her songwriting delves into her experiences: being a twin, studying Philosophy and Theology at University - themes which are laced through her songwriting -, sonder, and longing. Trying to understand how her own mind works sonically transfers into the songs.
