Strange Pink draws heavy, shared inspiration from 90s alternative and grunge acts, specifically citing Sonic Youth and Built To Spill as foundational influences. Their music is characterised by fuzzed-out guitars, heavy melodic basslines, lo-fi energy, and social commentary.
Fronted by Sam Forrest, formerly of Nine Black Alps, Strange Pink channel years of experience into a more introspective and atmospheric sound. Alongside him, drummer Dom Smith, who performs with Cerebral Palsy, brings a unique perspective and dynamic energy, while bassist Eddie Logie anchors the project with a distinctive sense of creativity and drive.
The band's forthcoming EP, 'Guest Room' builds on the group's growing reputation, following support from BBC Introducing and recognition from influential tastemakers at 6 Music, Amazing Radio and Radio X.
